I can imagine how frustrating that must be (from the point of a writer, at least).
I’m glad you were in a position to ask questions from the subject matter experts and take pictures, but that’s no substitute to be able to stand in a place and see what your characters saw and capture all the sensory details that make a scene come alive.

It sounds like you had an encouraging trip. I know you were excited, it tells in your written voice. And you were able to spend time with your family during this trip. I watched Rigby and Ruby, so I also had a great time while you and your family were taking a much needed break. FYI: The only pic is of the battlefield.
